Obituary of Francis J. Petro

Francis J. "Frank" Petro, 77, of Syracuse passed away Monday, with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Orchard Park, NY. Frank was a graduate of General Motors Institute and received his MBA from The University of Buffalo. He was formerly president of Crucible Steel and would retire as C.E.O. of Haynes International, Kokomo, IN. Frank was involved with the Boy Scouts for over 50 years. He was the Financial Advisor at Tully Hill and was responsible for the building of the original Ronald McDonald House in Syracuse. He was predeceased by his parents, and his grandson, Todd Petro. Survivors: his wife of 59 years, Jean (Rappl) Petro; son, David (Janinne) Petro of Syracuse; daughter, Deborah (Gerald) Parsons of Baldwinsville; son, Daniel Petro, Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Elizabeth (Jacob Lyon) Petro of Memphis, NY; son, Robert Petro of Syracuse; sister, Nancy Dowrey of Orchard Park; twin brother, Louis (Roxanne) Petro of Sylvan Lake, MI; brother, Joseph (Diane) Petro of Plainwell, MI; sister, Mary Ellen Angell of MA; 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services: 10:00 am Saturday at The Church Of St. Michael And St. Peter, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 pm Friday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank's name may be made to the Todd F.
