A long time ago she visited us in Aschaffenburg / Germany. I especially remember her friendliness and her sense of humor. She was the niece of my grandmother Maria Herold / Kessler. RIP

Dearest Sister James Denis: May you now rest in peace and in the loving arms of your Lord and Savior. I have so many memories of our visits to Syracuse and your "retreats" to visit us at our house. My regret now is that I didn't come visit you more often. You will always hold a special place in my heart. I am sure you were welcomed into heaven in true Herold fashion. I would even bet My Mother Marion was the hostess of the party.
How exciting to know you are reunited with those that have gone before you. My reward is that someday I too will be there with all of you.

To the family: Sister will always hold a special place in my heart. She truly blessed us with her kind and good nature. On a lighter note, I can still remember when as a teenager she blew my mind by donning a bathing suit and actually going water skiing. To me, that was so awesome, and she thought it was so funny!
Love and prayers,
Jean Therese Schreiner

So sad to hear of Sister's passing. I volunteered at St. Joe's and she was a wonderful mentor to me when I was a teenager. RIP and you will be missed.

Missing my sister Theresa, and for 62 years of her life Sister James Denis. Remembering those early years at St. Daniel's, Father Denis Lyons and Father James McCloskey, from whom your name was derived. Our week at Long Lake in the Adirondacks was so special before you entered. I will never forget our visit to Hoboken, NJ to see you, the many visits you made to my homes and our couponing effort that saved me and many others many dollars so we could make ends meet. You have been a very special nun in your Franciscan community. The strength and perseverance you have demonstrated with your illness the past three years, all was offered up to God. You are at peace at your final reward.
Sister, you will be in my heart always, Much love, Caroline

Sister, be with God, I am glad that while I was a teen volunteer at St Josephs Hospital for 3 years before employment there you were my director. You were tough but with compassion and I learned valuable traits for when I entered the working world. Rest in peace.

Sister's life was given in service to the Franciscan community for more than 60 years, and she was a brave and dedicated woman who was always thinking of others. We enjoyed her many visits with our family during holidays and celebrations. We will miss her greatly.
