Barrent "Barry" Edward Dorn of Syracuse passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse after a short illness. He was born in Albany, NY, March 5, 1941 to the late Theodore Raymond and Evelyn Emma Dorn. Barry, a retired high school teacher of the Phoenix School District, loved sports and was an avid golfer and skier. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Stuart R. Dorn, and also his stepson, Alexander Popoff.
Survivors: his wife and loving companion, Linda Popoff. In addition, he is survived by his daughter, Laurel Dorn Culbreath, two grandchildren, Caroline and Ethan Culbreath of Bradenton, FL, as well as
his sister, Linda (James) Pierson of Saranac Lake. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, stepchildren and step grandchildren.
Services: 6:00 p.m. Monday at May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society, 3800 E. Genesee St., Syracuse. The family will receive friends 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, prior to the service.
