We miss you, Barry. We miss your poignant comments that distill life's insights into one-liners We miss your straight faced pranks. Who will be brave and authentic now that you are gone? Who will dance and tell painful truths? You cast a wide net of charm and character. You have a big personality and a big heart that is a role model for many. We miss you deeply. You will always be with us.

As a tiny freshman, I was sitting crouched at Mr. Dorn's desk as the bell rang and I felt something grab me by the collar of my shirt and the back beltloop of my pants and it hoisted me into my seat. I was embarassed (it was Mr. Dorn) & I NEVER did that to any teacher again.
He also gave me plenty of fun memories the one year I played football. Once at practice, it started to seemingly hail and one player mentioned it, Mr Dorn said "Hail no, that's snow!" Godspeed Mr. Dorn, you were one of my most memorable teachers. I talked to a football player in my class (Mauldin, SC) about you last week & the positive influence you had on me.

My condolences to the family. I was a student at J.C.B. High in Phoenix, and had Mr. Dorn as a teacher for a class my senior year & also "prepped" for him(1983), and what a enjoyable time he made class! He made me laugh everyday. He was surely my favorite teacher! I will never forget him. You never forget a teacher who could make you smile. :)

With a heavy heart, I say goodbye to an old dear friend who was much like a brother to me in the 70's and 80's before I moved away. I am blessed to have had him as a friend. He touched a lot of students at Phoenix High School and was a positive influence on them. He will truly be missed. My thoughts are prayer are with his family as they go thru this difficult time.

Lots of scattered memories. I worked with him in PCS… for several years…. and we all partied together too. I remember his voice.. I called him 'Eeyore' because of his low gruff tone, but he was a gentle soul with a wonderful smile
