I was so sad to read of Mrs. Van Loan's passing. She was my 5th grade teacher at Cherry Road School. She was a wonderful, kind and patient woman and a great teacher. My deepest sympathies to her family.

Mrs. Van Loan was my 3rd grade teacher during the 1965-66 school year at Walberta Park School and probably the first teacher that ever influenced me to go into the profession of teaching. She was kind and gentle, yet firm and fair in the classroom. My fondest memories of her were her love of the Peanuts comic strip and the books that she would read us after we came in from recess. Thank you so much to her family for sharing her with her students - she will never be forgotten. My deepest sympathies to her family.
