Obituary of Clinton "Champ" Carr
Clinton D. “Champ” Carr, 83, of Syracuse, passed away on June 3, 2021 at home. Born in Syracuse, he was a graduate of CBA and LeMoyne College. He also attended SU for graduate history courses. Champ was honorably discharged from the US Army National Guard in 1966. He retired from Solvay High School in the early 90’s. He also spent many years with the Onondaga Sheriffs Dept. His passion was college football and lacrosse.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Donald V. and Frances (McCarthy) Carr; his brother, Peter Carr; his brother-in-law, Carl Dobe, and his goddaughter, Missy Fitz.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Stabile) Carr; his daughters, Cynthia and Christina; his dearly beloved granddaughters, Olivia Marin and Amelia Rose; his sisters, Mary Ann Dobe and Judy Carr; his brother, Robert Carr of Washington, D.C.; his sister-in-law, Rosemary Carr and his nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Services: At the request of Champ there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private at the funeral home.
