My condolences to Roger's family. He was always a funny guy and I was amazed when he successfully lost weight and looked amazingly fit. He had a smile for us anytime we were visiting Syracuse and joked about the days we went "camping!"

I'm so saddened by your passing Roger... The world was a brighter place just a week ago. I wish we had that lunch we talked about. You're so missed here, I'm taken aback by the outpouring, not only from friends and family here, but from DJs all over the country who held you in such high regard. Your talent and your kind soul are an inspiration to all. Until we meet again.

I am just so grateful that we got to spend an entire day with Roger and Cindy just a mere two months ago.
We started out with a light lunch (Roger practically tackled me at the when I tried to pay) and then we proceeded to Watkins Glenn for a hike.
Afterwards we drove out to wine country on Seneca Lake and plopped ourselves down at a corner table outside so we could enjoy the sunset.
We laughed, we shared a delicious dinner,, we told stories, recounted our favorite concerts and talked of our mutual love of music and we raised our glasses to friendship.
Thank you for the beautiful memories. I wish I could light a thousand candles...

Love is stronger than death even though it can’t stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can’t separate people from love. It can’t take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death.

What a positive, energetic, feel-good person... Roger was a credit to his community and a pleasure to have known for the short while that I was lucky enough to do so. It is always tragic when someone of such fabric passes. My heart and meditations to all that survive Roger and all those who will continue to celebrate his memory. You will be missed, Rog.

To the family of Roger Yager, i'd like to express my deepest and most sincere condolences. I met Roger at Planet Fitness about 3 years ago and never forgot him from the day we met. He was a "force to be reckoned with" and now the force is with him as he truly lived and loved his life. Roger could always make myself and everyone smile, even on our crappiest days. He will be truly missed by so many people and the now "quiet" gym will never be the same without him there. We are all still trying to grasp this loss and come to terms with the fact that he has moved on to his next life.

Roger was one of the most thoughtful and caring individuals I have ever known. In the brief moments I was lucky enough to have with him over a span of 10 years, or so, he left an indelible impression on me. He was always generous and uplifting, leaving me with a sense of well-being each time we came in contact.
Because I was looking forward to our next encounter, his next Facebook post, or our next shared meal, I will miss him terribly and can't help but suffer my personal loss.
I am so very happy for our last time shared - lunch on our way for a wonderful hike down Watkins Glen, then an amazing dinner with Roger and Cindy Ormond at Suzanne's. That time, just 8 weeks ago, is a lovely lasting memory that I will cherish more deeply now in his absence.
May God bless you and keep you, dear friend.

Our world has lost a great "character". That is a high compliment as one meets very few "characters" in a lifetime. We all strive in our lives to be memorable and few really acheive it. He did. Roger had pride and dignity that is very hard to find in anyone. He was a true dreamer and a man of integrity. I have carried around a piece of him in my heart for many years now. It will stay tucked away there forever.

I had the pleasure of meeting Roger at Planet Fitness after overhearing him talking about an upcoming superhero movie that was coming out, a hobby I also shared. To say I'm shocked at hearing of his passing would be an understatement, as we were just speaking about his fathers care and my daughters' wedding just weeks ago. I hope that, where ever Roger is now, he is living the adventures that so inspired him in this life.
May God Bless you my friend.

To Roger's family and closest friends, I want to express my condolences. There are so many of his friends, including me, who are trying to wrap their minds around his leaving us so young, and it is difficult to do. It hurts when it's "one of our own," and that's what Roger was to so many people. He was a consummate professional, a friendly face in the crowd no matter where I saw him, and a kind and gentle presence in our community. He will be greatly missed.

My friend Roger,
In a man's life he has many friends - some he likes, some he respects, and then there are the special people you just click with. That's Roger. He and I loved to talk about music. We bonded over our common interest. We became good friends. I will always remember that smile on his face and know that I'm a better person for knowing him.
Roger's friend always,

To Roger's family,
I am writing to you here because I will be out of town over the weekend for a family event - and that will prevent me from expressing these thoughts in person.
I am stunned and so very sorry for your loss. You shared Roger with so many people in Central New York. Many of those people are friends of mine and they are hurting deeply as they digest the news of his sudden death.
Roger was an upbeat, positive force in the lives of every single person he encountered. I'm sure you knew that - but I hope the many messages and personal greetings shared with you over the coming days will solidify that knowledge - and offer you comfort.
I can't begin to list the number of times Roger's quick wit and smile manged to get us both though hosting one of the many charity events we have worked on together. I have been thinking a lot about those lately, and remember them all with a smile.
There is a good chance that even the friends we shared don't know that Roger was one of my toughest critics. When local television news would cover something trivial - something Roger deemed to be of little importance, he would reach out and let me know about it. He kept me honest with quick note - and I will miss that. Most people simply let the local news "wash over them," Roger was different. And special.
Michael Benny
