William M. Coughlin, 62, of Syracuse passed away Monday at Francis House. Born in Syracuse, he was a 1968 graduate of St. Patrick's High School. Bill was also a 1972 graduate of SUNY Brockport and a graduate of the LPN Program at Central Tech. He was employed by CNY-DSO as a Community Residence Assistance Director. He was a member of the Tipperary Hill Athletic Club, a committee member of the West End Open, and was a volunteer at Francis House. He was an extremely talented singer and self taught guitarist, performing for many years as part of The Lewis Park Duo/Trio. He was predeceased by his father, William A. Coughlin. Survivors: mother, Elizabeth Newton Coughlin; son, Jason (Debra) Alamond of Loranger, LA; former wife, Sandra Wensel Coughlin of Syracuse; grandsons, Johnathan and Alexander Alamond; several cousins; and a multitude of wonderful friends including several that he considered brothers. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Brigid-St. Joseph Church, 318 Herkimer St., Syracuse. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St., Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
