Lt. Col. Robert F. Bamerick, USMC Ret. May 12, 2011 Lt. Col. Robert F. Bamerick, USMC Ret., 90, of Camillus passed away Thursday at St. Camillus. Born in Syracuse, Col. Bamerick attended Nottingham High School, St. Michael's College, Columbia College, and UNC - Chapel Hill. Col. Bamerick flew eleven years in the USMC Ready Reserve and was discharged from the U.S.M.C.R. with the rank of Lt. Col. after completing 38 years of service. Col. Bamerick was an adult leader for more than 20 years in the Boy Scouts of America and was recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. Col. Bamerick was active for many years in Catholic Scouting and was a recipient of the St. George Award. He worked many years as a civil engineer in the Central New York area. He was a member of the Retired Officers' Assoc., the Reserve Officers' Assoc., and the Marine Corps League. Survivors: his wife of 64 years, Jane (Lally) Bamerick; three daughters, Susan (Ronald) Wecht, Sally (Raymond) Dewitt, Virginia (Douglas) Hyde; son, Robert F. Bamerick Jr.; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St.
