Obituary of Marion W. Devereaux

Marion W. Devereaux, 107, of Solvay passed away Monday. Born in Oswego, she was a wonderful seamstress and homemaker. She and her husband John started Solvay Senior Citizens. She worked for Peace, Inc. for 35 years. She was awarded the Dewitt Clinton Award by the Masonic Temple in Solvay at the age of 81. She started her "first" job at the age of 70. Marion was predeceased by her husband John F. Devereaux in 1991, one sister, one brother, four half-sisters, and one-half brother. Survivors: two daughters, Marion (Peter) Nistico and Margaret Bowhall; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and their children. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Cecilia Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Spring burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY.
