Paul J. Blais, 91, of Syracuse passed away Saturday, after a long happy life, with his family by his side. He was born in Three Rivers, Quebec, to Eva and Joseph Blais. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Paul met his loving wife Doris at St. Lucy's Academy where they began dating and later married on May, 28 1948. This is where they began their 66 year journey together which included 9 children. Paul and Doris summered at their home on Song Lake until their children were grown, and later after retirement wintered at their home in Bradenton, FL. Paul was a general contractor and owner of Blais Construction for over 40 years. He was a devoted husband to his wife, a great father to his children, and good friend to all who knew him. He was predeceased by his wife Doris in 2014. Survivors: his children and their spouses, Linda Driscoll, Paul Blais Jr., Diane Anderson, Joyce (Casper) Guttuso, Joe (Elsa) Blais, Jim (Sue) Blais, Nancy Ramsden, Mary Blais, and Marcia Blais. Then came 23 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Sister, Jackie Adams and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, brother, Patrick, sister, Lucille, and cousin, Aurelle. The family wishes to thank St. Camillus nursing staff for their compassion and care. Services: 9:30am Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:00 am at St. Charles's Church, 501 S. Orchard Rd., Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial with military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY.
