Obituary of Jo-Anne F. Newkirk

Jo-Anne F. Sweeny Newkirk, 80, of Camillus passed away Friday after complications from lung cancer. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School. Jo-Anne retired as an office manager in Connecticut from Oncology Associates. She was an active volunteer at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a communicant at St. Joseph's Church in Camillus. Jo-Anne was predeceased by her husband, John E. Newkirk in 2007.
Survivors: daughters, Theresa (Stephen) Newkirk-Boy of Newburyport, MA and Deborah (Dr. Joseph) Barry of LaFayette; sons, John (Donna) of Rocklin, CA and David of Hilton Head Island, SC; grandchildren, Natalie (Matthew) Jones, Stephen Boy, David Newkirk Jr., Jacqueline Newkirk, Kyle and Shannon Barry; great grandchild, Hunter Jones.
Services: 10:30am Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., PO Box 7, E. Syracuse, NY 13057
