Obituary of Marjorie E. Gannon

Marjorie Elizabeth Gannon passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29th. Marge was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 12, 1920. She graduated from Eastwood High School and received her teaching certificate from Syracuse Normal School. She was a substitute teacher for the West Genesee School District for many years. Her greatest love was her family and playing tennis. She played tennis at Pine Grove well into her 80's. She played 2 years in the National Senior Olympics. She is predeceased by her husband Lawrence Gannon. She is survived by four sons and two daughters: Lawrence P. (Susan), Patrick (Sharon), Susan (Daniel), Thomas (Debbie), David (Wendy) and Marsha (Frank); 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great- grandchild. Services: Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m Thursday, July 6,.at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee Street, Syracuse. Funeral Service in celebration of Marge's Life will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, at Onondaga Hill Presbyterian Church, 4797 Makyes Road, Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
