I am sad to hear of the passing of Mitch. He was my Dad's friend for a lifetime and was very dear to him. My Dad, Van Jerome, and my Mom, Betty, spent much of their lives with your family. My Dad was one of the Chicken Coop Kids as was Mitch. I still have a photo someplace of Mitch, Van and several other boys crammed into a model T in my grandparents driveway. I myself remember going to picnics at your family home on Terry Road and feeling the happiness everyone had for each other.
In later years,your parents, my parents and other Cherry Road students enjoyed going to lunch at Morgans every month and there were many fond memories to share.
Westvale has had changes over the years since the 20's, but it seemed as though Mitch and Van remained the same good friends they always were. I am sad for Mitch's passing, but also happy that he and my Dad will once again be sharing time together.
