Obituary of Mary E. Craner

Mary E. Craner, 94, of Syracuse passed away Friday at home surrounded by family. Born in Solvay and raised in East Syracuse, Mary was a graduate of Syracuse Normal School and Syracuse University. She taught grade school in the Syracuse City and Westhill School Districts. Mary retired from Westhill in 1987. She was a Communicant of the Church of St. Michael and St. Peter and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was an avid quilter and volunteered for 25 years at the Upstate Hospital Pediatric Unit. She was predeceased by her husband, William in 1980.
Survivors: her children, Stephen (Connie), Gary (Kathleen), William, Timothy, Bonnie, Dennis (Susan), Patrick (Carina); 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at The Church Of St. Michael And St. Peter where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. A calling hour will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at The Church Of St. Michael And St. Peter, 4782 W Seneca Tpke, Syracuse, NY prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
