Obituary of Margaret M. Sharpe Wood

Margaret McLean Sharpe Wood, 98, died peacefully Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Loretto. Born April 22, 1918 in Glasgow, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Alan and Jean (McLean) McKenzie.
Margaret was retired from the Syracuse City School District. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star, member and elder of Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church. Margaret was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and served as a volunteer in mission in Mt. Pleasant, Utah sponsored by her church. She was predeceased by her husband, Grant A. Sharpe Jr.; second husband, Leon Wood; two sisters, Jessie and Sheila; sons, Russell Sharpe and Bruce Sharpe; daughter in law, Kate Sharpe.
Survivors: her sons, Grant A. (Susan) Sharpe III of Clermont, FL, Douglas Sharpe of Denver, CO, and David (Sarah) Sharpe of Denver, CO; daughter in law, Patricia Sharpe of Homer, NY; 12 loving grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all.
Services: A spring memorial service is being planned with interment in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 126 S. Terry Rd., Syracuse, NY 13219.
