Obituary of Muriel Jean Devaney

Muriel Jean LoCastro Devaney, 74, formerly of Syracuse passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in Fairfax, VA after a brief illness. Muriel was born in Syracuse October 2, 1941 and was a graduate of North High School. She was employed by Lockheed Martin, formally GE, for 47 years as a purchasing manager and had been residing in Chantilly, VA. Muriel was predeceased by her daughter, Kimberly in 1991; son, Brian in 2015; her mother, Laureta Kennedy LoCastro and her father, George LoCastro. Survivors: her daughter, Kelly Devaney; grandson, Shelby Devaney; long time companion, Jerome Garlin; sisters, Santa (Robert) Tindall, Earleen Grosso, and Caroline (Darryl) Tucker; brother, Onofrio "Jack" LoCastro; many nieces and nephews. Services: 11 am Friday at Our Lady of Peace Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. Calling hours will be 4 to7 pm Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
