Obituary of Charles A. Kermes

Charles August Kermes, 92, of Onondaga Hill, was called to Heaven by Our Father, November 20th at Loretto Health and Rehab. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, in Company B of the 822nd Tank Destroyer Battalion, in a tour to France and Germany. He was a skilled member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 58, for over 70 years. Charles was a Communicant of The Church of St. Michael and St Peter. He was predeceased by Doris his wife of 59 years, his sisters, Jane Kermes-Sturr and Martha Kermes-Gray, brother, John "Jack" Kermes. Survivors: his daughter, Margaret "Peg" (Ed) Scott of Brewerton; son, Charles W. (Fredda) Kermes; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff of the Loretto Cunningham Building for the care Dad was given. Services: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Michael and St. Peter where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 5 to 7p.m. Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY.
