My heart is breaking at Dave's leaving us and for Lucille, Lisa and the kids. God please comfort them always. Dave put up a good and tough battle with this evil we call cancer. Dave was like a brother to us, that brother we never had. We had a great relationship with Dave. Dave and I would see each other at the 6:45 am Mass at Holy Family on just about a daily basis. Living across the street we were always involved in each others lives. After Mass, driving home and going by Tully's I kept seeing a sign for "Tuna Melt". Yes it does sound yummy, so I stopped at the store and got what I needed made a few sandwiches and at 7:45 am we were sitting in Daves basement eating these sandwiches and sent one upstairs to Edith, Lucilles Mom. Spending time at each others house was a natural thing, no need to call ahead, you were always welcome at Dave and Lucille's. And the same here, unexpected visits from the Flaherty's was a common event, just like a phone call to or from them when we were just thinking about them.
May you rest in Peace with our Lord, and may the angels take you to Paradise. We know that all his pain is gone, and we left here have lost a piece of our neighborhood. Lucille and Lisa anything you need, we are here for you. God Bless you Lucille for being there for double duty of Dave and your Mom. We love you guys
