When I think of lighting a candle for you gram, I see an instant picture of you running to help me do it safely. You were always quick to help me accomplish the "big kid things" as I grew, but you also were quick to encourage me to stay a little girl. I don't know how you did it gram, but you helped me flourish and spread my wings-at the same time-keeping me a small child as long as you could; such contradicting directions could only be accomplished by a woman as special as you. You just KNEW how to be a grandma. Special Special Special.
I wish I could have seen the long awaited reunion with grandpa in heaven...do they have polkas there? I chuckle, as I remember the love you both had for them-sitting at the kitchen table eating our Harrison Bakery breakfasts...
We will miss you gram, but will join you one day in heaven.

Grandma...we sang this today in spite of the grief we feel this week...but as strong as you were....we know you would want us to "Press On"...thank you for passing the '"genetic" strength to persevere' to Dad, Me, and my daughter Mariah...that is a blessing in the legacy you leave behind.

Mom,
I watched you decline over the past few months and it was very difficult for me. As I observed your decline, I prayed that God would take you out of the lack of life you had and deliver you to a better one with dad. My prayers were answered. I was hoping to get to see you after my vacation but Jan and I both believed you wouldn't last past your birthday. Give dad a big hug for me and tell him I miss him. Please watch over us as we continue this life until we meet again in the next one. I love you.

I have warm memories of Kay. She was good friends with my mother and we had many Thanksgiving dinners together. Her kindness and hospitality will be remembered. God rest her soul.

My husband and I never had the opportunity to meet Kay but we know her son, Gerry and his wife, Jan very well. Our thoughts and sympathy are with Gerry, Jan and the rest of Kay's family at this sad time.

Your mom used to bring stuffed cabbage to my parents home. I can't spell it but it was something like haluchies. I loved it when she came to visit. I remember your Dad in his army uniform. I was just a little girl but they were wonderful people.
