Obituary of Chester A. Sobotka

Chester A. Sobotka, 92, of Camillus passed away Sunday surrounded by his family. Born in Rome, NY he was graduate of Vocational High School. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He retired as a Supervisor from Bristol Laboratories in 1984. Chet enjoyed bowling on various teams. He dearly loved his grandchildren and included them in his projects around the house. Chet was a wonderful family man and great example to his whole family. He was a faithful man and communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Camillus. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Katherine, siblings, Joan, Stanley, and Helen, nephew (Godson) Mark. Survivors: his wife of 67 years, Theodosia "Teddy" (Synakowski) Sobotka; daughter, Judy (Paul) Sheridan; grandchildren, Alex, Jon, Andy, and Mary McGlynn; step grandchildren, Colleen, Kyle, and Bridget Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Church, Camillus where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial with military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse.
