Sam J. DeRoberts, 94, of Solvay passed away Friday at the VA Medical Center. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. Sam served in the 101st Airborne and completed 29 jumps. He also served in Civilian Conservation Corps. He worked many years in sales in the Syracuse area. Sam was predeceased by his 3 brothers, Al, Dom, and Tony.
Survivors: his wife of 34 years, Anna (Romagnoli); his 6 children; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Loretta; many nieces and nephews.
Services: Private burial with military honors will be in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Syracuse VA CLC Hospice, ATTN: Claudia Hanai, 800 Irving Ave. Syracuse, NY 13210.
