Herman A. Schultz November 24, 2013 Herman A. Schultz, 90, of Lakeland passed away Sunday morning. A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, he retired after 47 yeas from OM Edwards where he was a welder. He also worked at 7UP Bottling Co. for many years. He was a proud member of the US Army during WWII serving in the European Theatre. He was in Co. 1282 of the Civilian Conservation Corps working on various parks in NYS. He was a longtime member of the Stanley B. Pennock Post 2893. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and St. Michael’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling and watching the Yankees, NY Giants, and NASCAR. Herman was a loving and devoted father and is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Virginia. Survivors: his loving children, son and caregiver, Steven; daughters, Christine (Donald) Mix of Maryland, Virginia (John) Poppe and Frances (Paul) Sokolowski; seven beautiful grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St. Herman was a proud veteran so in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
