Obituary of William J. Aigeltinger

William J. Aigeltinger, 55, of Syracuse passed away Friday after a long illness at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Syracuse, he was a graduate of Westhill High School and attended Onondaga Community College. He retired from The Post Standard as a press operator after 32 years. Bill was an avid sports fan, American history buff, and enjoyed visiting many Civil War historic sites. He was predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth Aigeltinger.
Survivors: sisters, Joan (Richard) Applebaum of E. Syracuse, Mary Ann Aigeltinger of Westvale; nephews, Michael L. (Kristi) Applebaum of Chapel Hill, NC, Specialist Benjamin D. Applebaum USA of Ft. Bragg, NC, Katherine A. Applebaum of E. Syracuse; several aunts, uncles, cousins, close and supportive friends.
Services: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St.
