Loretta (Lou) Korzyp, 80, formerly of Syracuse, passed away Friday in Schenectady after a long illness. She was born to Emmett and Loretta Kinney. She was a graduate of Assumption Academy. She retired from Verizon after many years of service. She loved her family, friends and especially her dog Tasha. She enjoyed many activities including golf, casino's, old movies and spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John A. Korzyp in 2004 and her sisters Bernice Mitchell and Rita Gidari. Survivors: Her children; Brenda (Richard) Warner of Arizona, Janice (Tim) Chapman of North Carolina, John W. (Rena) Korzyp of Albany, NY. Grandchildren, Melissa and William Furdyn, John H. Korzyp, Lindsay, Amanda and Christina Chapman. Sister, Marge Putzer, brother, Emmett (Carol) Kinney; brother-in-law, Albert Gidari; many nieces and nephews. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heritage Home for Women, 1519 Union Street Schenectady, NY 12309 or Community Hospice of Schenectady, NY.
