Helen Singer, 99, of Camillus died in her sleep October 19, 2013. She died at home which was her wish. Born and raised in Syracuse, she attended Syracuse University graduating with a degree in Fine Arts. She was a teacher with the Syracuse City School District until her retirement. She was also a member of the elite art group “The Daubers” and sold her crafts for several years at the Art Mart around holiday time. Survivors: daughter, Nancy and son Robert (Eileen) of Camillus, brother, Jack (Gloria) MacCallum, also of Camillus. Other survivors include granddaughters, Louise (James) Hoare of Honeoye Falls, Helen Marie Torre-Tasso, of Camillus, and Alex Torre-Tasso (Kim) of Newton, CT, Robert Singer of Syracuse and Michael P. Singer. Also she is survived by great grandchildren who touched her heart; Abigail Grace, Margaret Mary, Elizabeth Ann, Nathan Alexander and Theordore James. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Alex and daughter Martha. She will be forever a teacher be it how to make a can of soup or get a astain out and she will be forever missed in our hearts and souls. We wanted you another 99 years but you called the shots your way! Services: Will be private at the convenience of the family.
