LeRoy J. Rice, 96, of Westvale passed away Saturday, at the VA Medical Center. Born in Syracuse, he was raised in Solvay. He retired after 30 years at Allied Chemical. He was a US Army veteran serving in Europe during WWII. LeRoy also worked as a police officer with the Camillus Police Department and as a deputy sheriff with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. He was predeceased by his wife June in 1996, his sister Laura Hoag in 2005.
Survivors: many close friends.
Services: Calling hours and military honors will be 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St.
Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery, Syracuse.
