Please share a memory of Rosemary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosemary "Ro" Baratta, 44, of Solvay, NY passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 8. A graduate of Solvay HS, she attended Bryant-Stratton and then completed a cosmetology program at Phillips Hair Institute. Ro was a practicing hair stylist and assistant manager at Hair Crafters in Syracuse. Her career was shortened due to health reasons. Ro had a very devoted circle of friends whom she loved. She enjoyed being with them, their families and sharing their many adventures. As a self-described "bingo junkie" she found as much enjoyment in playing as she did with being in the company of other bingo enthusiasts. Win or lose her dog Zorra was always home to greet her. Her drive to compete began at an early age. A little known fact: at age 6, Ro was a winner at the NYS Fair first annual rooster crowing contest with a borrowed rooster. Ro was an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Syracuse Moose Lodge # 625 and volunteered assisting at many functions. She was predeceased by her mother, Rosemary in 2007, and continued to live in company of her father Carmine at the family home. Survivors: In addition to her father she is survived by her siblings Carmine, Jr. (Margie) of Columbia, MD, Dr. Catherine of New Britain, CT and Christopher (Mary) of Mansfield, MA. "Aunt Ro-Ro" had a niece Rachel (Justin) and nephews Mack and Roman. Se is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday at Tindall Funeral Home. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse. There will also be a Memorial Mass at St. Cecilia Catholic Church (Solvay) in the near future.
