Obituary of Catherine Spinoso

Catherine "Kate" (Conroy) Spinoso of Syracuse, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on Thursday, December 26. Born on October 26, 1928, the first born of Myrtle and John Conroy, Kate grew up in the home she passed in. On November 15, 1947, Kate married Jim Spinoso and honeymooned in one of her favorite places - New York, NY. Together, they raised 4 children in her childhood home in Syracuse before moving to Warners, NY in 1972.  Eventually, Kate returned home to care for her mother.

Kate was a parishioner of St. Brigid and St. Joseph’s Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and giving her time to various church groups and many parish bake sales. Her last parish was St. Charles- St. Ann’s. She lived her life through her faith, loving her family, cherishing her friends, generously giving to those in need and served as a symbol of strength to many. In her retirement, Kate spent time traveling with friends, spoiled her 5 grandchildren and always made a point to celebrate and host holidays. She was a  lover of desserts, Frank Sinatra, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton and found joy in sharing memories of her past years.

Kate was predeceased by her parents, brothers, husband, and a son, Joseph whom she lost at birth.
