Obituary of Marilyn A. Farrell
Marilyn Ann Farrell, 85, of Syracuse, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday December 15, 2024.
Marilyn received her business degree from CCBI and retired from Onondaga County Health Department, the WHO program after 30 years. Throughout her life, Marilyn remained deeply committed to her family, church, friends and community. She was a Board Member for Onondaga Valley Cemetery and Daughters of Columbus. She was also a long-time member of the Mycroft Holmes Society and Home Bureau (NYS Federation of Home Bureaus) and was nominated for cook of the week for the Syracuse Herald Journal.
Marilyn was blessed with the love of participation and activities. She loved camping at Brennan’s Beach with our father, bowling, reading, shopping, going to church, church bizarre and getting together with her friends. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren madly and enjoyed every minute she spent with them. She was a devoted wife for 50 years, loving mother of her 3 kids, 2 grandsons, 2 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Her children feel incredibly fortunate to have had a mother who was always loving, thoughtful and caring.
Marilyn is predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Farrell, parents Mike and Anna Homa.
She is survived by her beloved children, Cynthia A Farrell, Christine Farrell-LaPage (Peter), W Michael Farrell (Lori); Grandsons, Ian Farrell (Natasha), Zachary Farrell (Rachael); Great Grandchildren, Ryleigh & Crosby; Step Grandchildren, Martin (Kim) Flaherty, Mindy (Billy) Bowles, Tristan (Carlos) Valdez and Step Great Grandchildren, Madison, Samantha, Anthony, Isabella, Grace and Emma. Special thanks to the staff at Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place in Baldwinsville, especially Jason, Matt & Dave in the physical rehabilitation department.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7pm Thursday December 19, at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St. Funeral Service will be 11am Friday December 20, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Camillus. Burial will follow at Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
