Obituary of Gertrude E. Harner

Gertrude E. (Heins) Harner of Geddes passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Van Duyn Rehab Center. Born in Syracuse, April 19, 1927, she was the eldest of six children. She attended Assumption School, and worked at AT&T. "Gertie" as she was called, was predeceased by her husband of 57 years James T. Harner in 2005.

She is survived by her children, James F. Harner, Kathleen Harner, and Mary Pirolla of Rochester. She is also survived by her youngest brother, James Heins of Willow Valley, PA, and Delores DeRegis of Tully; grandchildren, Mandy Pirolla, and Jennifer LaCount; great grandchildren, Trey and Gavin LaCount of Rochester. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

The family will always remember holidays in Rochester and her sometimes feisty nature. Gertie was always considered a nice person and will be greatly missed by family and friends. 

Private services will be held at the Onondaga Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
