Obituary of J. Richard Cloonan

J. Richard Cloonan, formerly of Solvay and Iona Corners, passed away unexpectedly January 17, 2013. Dick, son of Margaret (Daly) and John Cloonan, had been involved in the library supply and school book industries in both sales and marketing capacities. Formerly of Gaylord Brothers of Syracuse and Bound-To-Stay-Bound Books Inc. of Jacksonville, IL, he traveled extensively thru the eastern and mid-western states. He and his wife of 47 years, Georgia (Hupp) Cloonan have called the Philadelphia area their home.
Survivors: Dick leaves wife, Georgia, and sons, Christopher (Leslie) and Timothy of the Philadelphia area. He was the very proud grandfather to Casey, Sierra, and Cole, as well. In addition, his brother, Michael (Kathleen) of the Rochester (NY) area and nieces Kathryn and Meghan and nephew, John.
There was a memorial service January 31, 2013 in Honey Brook, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to Georgia Cloonan at P.O.B 190, Honey Brook, PA with checks payable to Bound-To-Stay-Bound Inc. in the name of J. Richard Cloonan. Proceeds are to be directed by BTSB to the "Cradle-To-Crayon" Children's Book Purchase Program.
