Obituary of Doris Jean Taylor

Doris Jean Taylor, 87, of Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Doris was born in Fulton, NY. She graduated from Solvay High School and completed her Master’s degree in education at Syracuse University. Doris was an English teacher at West Genesee High School for over thirty years, retiring in 1993.

She is predeceased by her mother, Emogene Landphier Taylor and her brother, John A. Taylor.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Emily Taylor and Lisa Taylor, her niece Karen Hewitt, as well as great and great great nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours for Doris will be 5-7pm Tuesday, September 26 at Tindall Funeral Home 1921 W Genesee St., Syracuse.

Her service will be 10am Wednesday, September 27 at Camillus First United Methodist Church, 12 Genesee St, Camillus, NY. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Syracuse, NY.
