Obituary of Cora E. Avery

Cora E. (Raymond) Avery, 103, of Warners passed away Wednesday peacefully at home with her family. Born in Solvay, she was a Solvay High School graduate class of 1938. She waitressed many years at local restaurants. Cora was a member of the Embroiderers' Guild of America. She and her husband, Nelson loved to travel seeing all 50 states, the Caribbean, Canada, and Mexico. They also enjoyed square dancing. Cora was a communicant of St. Marianne Cope Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Nelson Avery in 2014; son, Michael Avery; daughter, Catherine Jefferson; son, Joseph Avery.

Survivors: daughter, Patricia Stahlberg; son, Charles (Bobbie) Avery; son Stephen (Linda) Avery; son, Paul (Gania) Avery; daughter, Cecilia Avery; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7pm Monday June 19, at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St. Syracuse.

Services will be 9:30am Tuesday, June 20, at St. Marianne Cope Parish, Our Lady of Peace Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Livestream will begin at 9:30 am at facebook.com/TindallFH
