Obituary of Evan M. Flynn

It is with great sorrow that the family of Evan Mark Flynn (37), of Syracuse, announce his sudden passing from an accident in his home on March 13, 2023.

Born in Exeter, NH to Robert L. and Cheryl Kronlund Flynn on March 14, 1985, Evan was caring, funny, kind, thoughtful, intelligent, protective, a fierce competitor, hard worker and loyal friend. He was someone who you loved having on your team and he did everything in his power to ensure that other people had a good time when they were with him.  He loved his family, was a fantastic friend and always showed up in life with enthusiasm and a sense of humor.

Evan was an avid rugby player and sports enthusiast. He loved the San Francisco 49ers, spending time with family & friends, and making people feel welcome. He loved fishing and going on adventures. Family vacations and road trips were always more fun with Evan. His heart was bigger than his smile, his strength overshadowed only by his generosity, and his commitment to family and friends as big as his life. His memory will always be cherished, because he showed up for all the moments, big and small. He was always there. And he will always be in our hearts.

Evan attended St. Ann’s Elementary school and  graduated from Westhill High School. Evan graduated from St John Fisher College with a bachelor's degree in history and a master’s degree in international relations. He interned under US Congressional Representative Anne Marie Burkle from 2009-2010 in Washington DC and currently worked as a project manager for BR Johnson LLC.

Evan was predeceased by his mother Cheryl Kronlund Flynn, his godfather and uncle Mark Flynn, his paternal grandparents Robert and Anne (Dooley) Flynn, his maternal grandparents Kenneth and Elaine (Skolfield) Kronlund.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Ellen Flynn; his sisters, Moira Flynn and Carrie (Dan) Rewakowski; brothers, Brice (Sarah) Flynn, Chris (Hannah) Murphy, Kevin Murphy, Sean (Brianna) Murphy, Conor (Stephanie) Murphy; his godmother, Lisa Kronlund Condit and goddaughter, Mary Kate Rewakowski; and nieces and nephews; Brendan, Noah, and Andrew Rewakowski, and Declan, Cormac, Lincoln, Maggie, Éamon, Claire, Oonaugh, Calvin, and Brynn Murphy. He was adored by all, along with his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
