Obituary of Daniel Philip Doherty

Daniel “Dan” Philip Doherty of Syracuse, NY unexpectedly passed away on April 4, 2022 in Panama City, FL after battling unforseen medical complications. Dan was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. Dan attended Most Holy Rosary from 1966-1972, Corcoran High School class of 1975, and graduated from Farmingdale Community College in Long Island, NY in 1979. Dan worked for the airlines Eastern, Continental, US Air which then led him to work his current job of 30 years for Dell EMC. Dan was an avid theater performer for Salt City Stage. He was an avid movie goer/watcher of various content. He enjoyed spending time with his life long friends, family and various people he has met on the way. Dan spent a majority of his life helping his loved ones and made it a habit to be the best Uncle “Dunky Dan” to his nieces, nephew and fur niece, Lucy.

Dan is predeceased by his mother and father; Geraldine and Joseph Doherty.

Survivors: Dan is survived by his brother, Martin Doherty (sister-in law, Mechthild); sister, Sheila Vazquez (brother-in law, Frank); nieces, Shannon (partner, Christopher), Jennifer (partner, Aaron) and nephew Frankie “Spank”.’ Dan is survived by his Uncle Jim and numerous cousins. Dan is also survived by close friends, Larry, Dan, Maureen, Nancy, Moe Lynch, and many more life long friends.

Services: 10 am Thursday April 14, at Most Holy Rosary Church where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated and reception to follow.
