Q: How did you meet Connie? A: I met Connie when I was 12 and she was 11 years old. Even at that young age she worked and helped in the community. Later in life I saw that she was a great mother with her two children. I am sorry for the family's loss, but remember kids, God has a plan that involves all of us.

During the mid 1960's Connie and I were "pen pals" for a few years when she was at 511 1/2 Hawley Ave then 717 Burnet Ave. This was decades before the advent of email. We met in March of 1964 at a weekend event at the local Salvation Army. I remember she had the bluest eyes. During 1 week in the summer of '66 she stayed over my house under the watchful eyes of my parents. Over the last few years I tried to establish contact but she didn't seem to have an online presence that I could find. The last time I saw her was in the fall of 1971 with my Yellow '67 Mustang and it was clear our lives were now diverging to new chapters. I also remember her sisters Nora & Helen. Rest in peace my old friend. Look over my shoulder whenever you want. I only wish we could have met again over coffee. Perhaps in the future on the higher plain.
