Obituary of Barbara J. Fantauzzi
Barbara J. Fantauzzi, 80, passed away peacefully, fulfilling a long and happy life in Syracuse, NY. Born on February 20, 1941, Barbara’s legacy included being born, one of seven children to Chester and Lucy Cielock.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, a diligent worker and dedicated volunteer. Throughout the course of her life, Barb worked at two Syracuse jewelry stores and volunteered at The American Red Cross and Catholic Charities. Barbara then enrolled in computer courses and went on to completing her GED and then began a career with Onondaga County. Hobbies and interests of Barb’s included baking, gardening, ceramics and reading, as well as being a proud supporter of all her grandchildren’s interests and attending many of their sporting events. She also enjoyed opportunities to visit family who lived out of state.
Barbara is survived by her two daughters: Regina Mancabelli and Kimberly Fantauzzi; three grandchildren: Olivia Mancabelli, Kyle Denka and Briana Denka. In the spirit of family, relations were well maintained with ex-husband (J.J. Fantauzzi). She is predeceased by her parents, and Barb’s partner of many years (J.E. Thomas).
Calling hours for our Mom, a woman of unwavering love, will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 2pm to 4pm at Tindall Funeral Home at 1921 W. Genesee St., Syracuse, NY.
