Jane V. Steves Romano, 97, formerly of Eastwood, passed away Tuesday at James Square. Born in Syracuse, she attended Solvay schools and was an active bowler for many years. Jane retired after more than 20 years with the Syracuse Police Department, as a traffic enforcement officer. She was predeceased by her husband Roland in 1985 and son in law David Bonzerato in 2001.
Survivors: daughters Jacqueline (Alan) Hazelmyer of N. Syracuse and Maria Bonzerato of Syracuse; her sister, Fern Steves of California; grandchildren, David Jr., Thomas, and Tracey Bonzerato, and Kaitlyn Hazelmyer; 4 great grandchildren.
Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (Today) at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse.
