Obituary of John E. McMahon Sr.

John "Jack" E. McMahon Sr., 87, of Fairmount passed away Wednesday. Born in Syracuse, Jack was raised in Cazenovia. He was a US Marine Corps veteran and retired as Captain from the Syracuse Fire Department after 30 years of service. Jack was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Marie (Bobbette) McMahon; his son, Michael McMahon; grandson, Johnny McMahon; and sister, Cathy Stockton.

Survivors: his children, John E. McMahon Jr., Robert McMahon, Joseph (Michelle) McMahon, Tina McMahon; sister, Marybeth (Mike) Ahern; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services: 12:30pm Tuesday April, 13 at Holy Family Church where a Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 5 to 7pm Monday April 12, at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee, Syracuse.
