Karen Marie (Raymond) Clay September 3, 2012 Our beloved Karen Marie (Raymond) Clay, 70, of Solvay, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012. Karen loved her family above all and enjoyed gardening, baking, painting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, photography and making jewelry. She worked at Minoa Nursing Home, Hill Haven Nursing Home and at Kasson Road School as a Teaching Assistant. After re-establishing the Solvay Garden Club in 2000, she served as President for many years. Karen was a long-standing member of the Garden Association of Central New York and of AURORA (sign language agency). Her parents, Philip and Elizabeth Raymond, sister, Madeline "Peggy" Hiney, uncle, Melbourne "Red" Raymond predecease her. Survivors: her loving husband, Ronald J. Clay, daughter, Cynthia E. Raymond, Binghamton, treasured grandson; Jeffrey S. Calles, Binghamton. She leaves behind sisters and brothers-in-law; Phyllis and Justin Maynard, Judith Walter, Barbara and Leonard Kaner, Marilyn and Richard Correia and Patricia Raymond, brothers and sisters-in-law; James Raymond and Joyce Dority and Donald and Karen Raymond, aunts and uncle, Cora "Corky" and Nelson Avery and Viola "Vick" Raymond, many nieces, nephews, a large extended family and many close friends and neighbors. Services: A celebration of Karen's life will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 6th, 2012 at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY.
