Obituary of Mary Elizabeth O'Brien

Mary Elizabeth O'Brien of Westvale passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday. Bette was born in Syracuse to Richard and Margaret (Hartigan) O'Brien. She was a graduate of Syracuse Central High School, Crouse Irving Hospital School of Nursing, and Syracuse University. She was employed at Crouse Irving Hospital, Onondaga County, and New York State. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Bette enjoyed traveling and her time at the family cottage in the Adirondacks. She is survived by her sister, Beverly Griffin and her good friend, Ric Reo; a niece, Margaret (Richard) Bailey; nephews, David (Margaret) Griffin, Daniel (Mary) Griffin, all of Camillus, and Richard (Annette) Griffin of Spring Hill, FL; several cousins, great nieces and nephews. Services: 10 am Monday at Holy Family Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum in DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr, Syracuse, NY 13219.
