Thinking of all of you – and of past days. I will never forget all the great times we had at 120 Sunnybrook. Uncle Harv being a big part of that. Before we moved to Arizona, it was like our second home. We could stand at the end our street (Melrose and Sydney), look down the hill, and see the house (or at least that is what we told ourselves.) If we were not at our house, we were most likely there - riding bikes, swimming, playing tag with all the cousins, BBQ’s in the backyard and jumping in the ‘crick’. Uncle Harv was always there to add some extra fun to the event – riding us kids around on a bicycle built for two, throwing everyone into the pool, or STARTING an Adult v. Kid water balloon fight. I can’t forget to mention the winters; every weekend Uncle Harv would make egg/pancake breakfasts before a day of watching the boys play Hockey at Shove Park.
Mom was fond of Uncle Harv too, he would always make her smile and laugh as ever the practical joker he was. One of the last times Aunt Joan and Uncle Harv were out to Arizona; my kids were younger, maybe 8 and 10 at the time; Aunt Joan and Uncle Harv stopped by the house. Chris and I went out front to greet them. While we were chatting, Uncle Harv decided to wander around the back of the of the house, just checking things out. We had a game room, where the kids were playing, with a door to the backyard that was open at the time. He decided to spook the kids – they had never met Uncle Harv, so they didn’t know who he was – he stood eerily in the doorway, and told the kids he was hobo Harv and he had come to take all their stuff – scared the bejesus out of them!

Dear Joan & Family:
My condolences to all on your great loss. Seeing his picture brought back memories of fun times when we were in our high school years. There was a group of us (Harvey, Dick MacDonald, Bobby Barnello, Andy Nelipowitz, my brother Terry and myself) who did a lot together - car rides, swimming, sports, Mass, and parties. Harvey was the quiet gentleman but always the friend. In the summer of 1953 we all spent the week at 'Mac's' uncle's camp in Bridgeport unchaperoned. But we behaved ourselves. If we did not, Harvey would have put us in line.
God Bless you, Harvey. You left a wonderful legacy - memories for Joan and your 5 children and grandchildren. Rest in eternal peace.
Sincerely,
Jim Dooher
