Michael J. Gallagher, 75, of Syracuse passed away peacefully Monday. Born in Syracuse he was a graduate of St. Lucy's Academy. Mike was a US Army veteran and retired from the National Guard after over 30 years of service. He was retired from Rite Aid after 37 years. Mike loved camping and Nascar. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Rose Gallagher, his brother, William A. Gallagher, and sister, Kathleen Back. Survivors: his wife of 39 years, Carole (McIntyre) Gallagher; sister, Johanna "Tish" Petta of Liverpool; brother, Brian (Robin) Gallagher of Rockledge, FL; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Services: 9:30 am Friday, December 20, at Tindall Funeral Home and 10 am at Holy Family Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial with military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7pm Thursday, December 19, at the funeral home, 1921 W. Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Clear Path For Veterans, 1223 Salt Springs Rd, Chittenango, NY 13037.
