Obituary of Gregory Mark Lewis

On Saturday, Gregory Mark Lewis died peacefully at home. He was 38 years old. Greg lived several lives in his short time with us. He will always be remembered for his intensity, humor, passion and love for friends and family and his enormous heart. His sense of justice was unequalled. He will be forever missed.

Born July 15, 1981 in Syracuse, Greggy attended Westhill schools. In the past few years he completed the BOCES construction technical course and was developing a sincere and earnest career in the building trades. Greg spoke often of his work, and planned to become a master builder.

Greg was predeceased by his father, W. John Lewis Jr; grandparents, Wayne and Virginia (Salisbury) Lewis and Robert and Elizabeth (Meagher) Dempsey;  Uncle William Lewis; and Aunt Erin (Dempsey) Cyrkin.

Greg is survived by his mother and step father, Martha (Dempsey) and Matthew Costello; sisters, Shana and Molly Lewis; bother, Josh Lewis; uncle and aunt, Mark and Nancy Dempsey; uncle, Cary Cyrkin; several cousins, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

Services: 10 am Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:30 am at St. Joseph's Church, Camillus where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow the service. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St., Syracuse.
