Martha Torre-Tasso August 27, 2012 Martha Torre-Tasso, age 68, died August 27, 2012 after a long illness. After graduation from Syracuse University, she was employed by the West Genesee School District as a kindergarten teacher and in recent years as a teacher's assistant with special needs students. She was a strong advocate for the disabled and was a Special Olympics coach. She loved antiquing and the state of Maine, where she visited yearly. She will be missed by friends, family, co-workers, and others whose lives she touched who are known only to God. She often performed random acts of kindness. Survivors: mother, Helen Singer of Camillus; daughters, Helen Marie Torre-Tasso of Camillus and Louise (Jamie) Hoare of Honeoye Falls, NY; son, Alexander (Kim) Torre-Tasso of Newtown, CT; sister, Nancy Singer of Camillus; brother, Robert (Eileen) Singer of Camillus; She is also survived by 3 granddaughters, Abigail, Liddie, and Maggie Hoare; 2 grandsons, Nathan and Teddy Torre-Tasso; nephews, Robert and Michael Singer. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family as was her wish. As remembrances, consider contributions made in Martha's name to the Guardian Angel Society, 259 E. Onondaga St., Syracuse, NY 13202 or the Povorello Health Center, 808 N. Salina St., Syracuse, NY 13208 or WAVES Ambulance, PO Box 156, Camillus, NY 13031. The family wishes to thank Hospice of CNY for their care of Martha in her final days.
