Obituary of Mary P. Fassinger

Mary Patricia (Ryan) Fassinger 86, of Westvale, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 19. Mary was born in Syracuse, raised in Solvay, and resided in Westvale until her death.   

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, William, in 2008; a son, William; her parents, Joseph and Ethel Ryan; and a brother, Joseph (Bob).

Mary was employed at a number of venues but ended her professional career at J & T Automotive Hardware in Syracuse, NY. 

Mary was a graduate of Solvay High School (1951) and was active in class reunion activities for a number of years. While raising her sons, she was active in Cub Scouts.  Mary was an avid bingo player and spent numerous evenings waiting for her number to be called. She also enjoyed trips to New England with her husband to view the fall foliage. She had many joys in her life, but her favorite was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Surviving are her sister Rita Picciott (Tom), her brother Michael Ryan (Sharon), sons William J, (JoAnne) of Canton, NY; Philip E. (Michelle) of Camillus, NY; and Charles A. (Kelly) of Warners, NY; nine grandchildren, Marietta P. (Jeff) Lachenauer, Gabriella M. (Greg) Matukas, Gina N. (Mike) Natale, Aidan, Alexis, Abigail, Ashton, Madison, and Ryan; six great grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Cameron, Harper, Maria, and Andrea; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 9:30am Friday, December 28, 2018  at Tindall Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Charles Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Dewitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 pm Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee St, Syracuse NY
