Obituary of Helen L. Steele

Helen (Livingston) Steele, 97, of Camillus, NY, passed away on Tuesday in Syracuse. Helen was born in Ilion, NY and served in the US Navy during World War II. She then worked as a nurse at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital for about 20 years. Helen enjoyed bowling and camping but really loved to crochet. She was a member of Taunton Memorial Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Camillus Chapter.

Helen was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Steele in 1997. 

Survivors:  her son, Lloyd (Marlene) Steele of Charleston, SC; granddaughter, Sherry Wilson of Georgetown, SC; grandson, Jacob Steele of Columbia, SC; and four great grandchildren.

Services: 11 am Friday August 31, at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. A calling hour will from 10 to 11 am Friday prior to the service at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Helen Steele to the Masonic Care Community, c/o Office of Philanthropy, 2150 Bleecker Street, Utica NY 13501.
