Obituary of Mary E. Charles
Mary Elizabeth (Rubado) Charles, 96, of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Syracuse and was graduate of St. Anthony’s school. Mary worked for the New York Telephone Company for 20 years followed by a second career with Community General Hospital in Radiology for another 20 years. Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed music, dancing, travelling and time with family and friends. The highlight of her life were her two granddaughters. Mary loved gatherings at the family summer camp on Otisco Lake where many memories were made. She had a genuine interest in others, resulting in her making friends wherever she went.
Mary was predeceased by her husband James who died in 2005, after a marriage of 58 years.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Linda Veit, son in law, Bill, and granddaughters, Nicole and Kelly Veit, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services: 10 am Saturday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:30am at St. Ann’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Calling hours will be 4 to 7pm Friday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee St.
