Obituary of Colleen A. Kotars

Colleen A. (Fay) Kotars, 63, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday peacefully with her family at her side. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary School, Westhill Senior High School, and Atlantic Airline School. Colleen was an active member of the Taunton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for over 20 years. She was employed as office manager for a local fire, water, and disaster restoration firm for over 20 years. Colleen was a communicant of Most Holy Rosary Church. Her interests included the Strathmore area bunco league, softball, and chili cook offs.

She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Fay and her brother in law, Gary Holst.

Survivors: her husband of 41 years, Gordon Kotars; son, Gregory Kotars and daughter, Melissa (Paula Hilton) Kotars all of Syracuse; sister, Ellen Holst; brothers, James (Eliza) Fay and Patrick (Sharon) Fay; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; her beloved pets, Cooper and Rascal.

Services: 10 am Thursday at Most Holy Rosary Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling Hours will be 4 to 7 PM Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home 1921 W. Genesee Street.
